Christmas Decor + Tablescape

I love decorating for Christmas! I don’t know if I could think of anyone who would say different! Christmas decor is hands down the best! All the lights, and sparkles! The fresh (or faux) greenery – there’s no other holiday like it!

The thing I love about decorating for Christmas is that you can throw some lights or greenery around the house and it makes such a huge difference! It doesn’t really need anything else if you don’t have anything else, land honestly, sometimes I think the simpleness of Garland and some lights is the prettiest! Anytime I decorate, I have to say I’m more into the simplicity of things rather then throwing a billion over the top things up just to have them fill up the house!

Also, with decorating for any holiday, I always try to keep in mind all of my past years themes when shopping and only really purchase things that will work with them/add to them. This helps save you money and gives you more options for years to come. I like to think of shopping for any holiday decorations as an opportunity to add things that will go with anything in my collection – not to necessarily start a new collection. For the past few Christmas I have stuck with silver, gold, white, silver & gold and all white.

Now, if I wanted to make things look different from those past years I would maybe think to add some color! If I was in my all girl house still, BLUSH would have made a major appearance (but every time I turned to look at Ryan after saying something blush was cute in a store he looked at me like I had 3 heads)! Or, if the boys would have wanted to go for a more festive theme I would have thought to throw in some red ornaments in the mix of white. Maybe have a red bow as my Christmas tree topper and add small poinsettias through the house to add touches of the red theme in different areas!

This year, Since it was my first Christmas moved into Ryan’s I tried to remain calm and told myself I wouldn’t go crazy and take over. Pahaha! Although I think Ryan’s maybe used to me taking over the decorating. And that he’s maybe okay with it! He goes along with it, so sometimes I think he doesn’t mind, either that or he gives up lol!! But anyway, I only realllllly went nutso in the dining room! So I figured I’d focus in on that for you guys in this blog post!

This year we went more with a silver and white theme. Keeping things clean and simple. I wanted the table to look elegant but not to done up! With the table I used the normal urn that stays there but replaced our fall pumpkins with a big silver reindeer! This little guy looks big and makes a statement but was cheaper being that he’s made of paper mache!

Once I filled underneath him with fur ornaments I found, this made for the highest point on the table. I knew from here that I would have to even the feel out with something that would bring the hight down a bit on each side! Since the table is very large you can’t have just one tall thing in the center.

As soon as I got to brainstorming I knew that candlesticks would be perfect to incorporate. They would be a great way to fancy it up and keep the hight of everything proportional. I found these pretty wire ones, but they were gold so I sprayed them silver with a mirrored glass spray paint!

I added touches of mercury glass and fur. The fur table runner, I. am. obsessed. with! I also added snow tipped pinecones. I laid these staggered over garland that was intertwined through the candle sticks!

My place setting are all from pier one, they have the best stuff! Depending on what’s going on I add or remove plates for more laxed or fancy looks. I found these cute little birds that had clips on them, I got the idea of using jute twine as a napkin ring because I wanted the birds to stand out, not the napkin ring!

For the chairs I placed small wreaths that I got from hobby lobby! I tied a small thin white bow on them to tie in the white from the napkins and table runner. The trick is to make everything flow.

For other greenery touches, I placed faux garland springs around the top of the chandelier. This is something you don’t always see so I thought it looked really cute and different!! Again, touches like these are so simple and inexpensive.

Ryan also has this huge old window on the wall behind the table that he got from an old uptown house he worked on. He changed the glass out with mirrors. This is something that’s a great idea at any time to give a big empty wall a special touch while still making it simple! I placed garland around this and draped one of my favorite little Christmas goodies on it! I got this cute banner from Etsy a few years ago and I always love how it looks!

Hope this post can give you guys any last minute Christmas decor inspiration since I know I got around to it a little late in the game. However these are always great things to keep in mind for next year, and some of the things in this post will go on sale I’m pretty sure once Christmas is over! It’s always good to stock up for next year while the gettin’ is cheap pahaha!

I am linking a ton of products you can use to re-create this look in the 2 sliders below! Scroll though and click the things you like to be directly taken to the page!

Simple, Fancy + Easy Peasy wrapping!

Morning guys! We’re in the home stretch! Maybe a lot of you have starting wrapping, but I’m just getting to it!

I’m never one to go for the crazy wrapping paper. For the last few years my paper has been very natural and simple. All silver, gold, tan or white!

Sometimes I feel like crazy wrapping all placed under the tree can take attention away from it! You want the tree to be the main event, you don’t need crazy wrapping paper to steal the show!

This year I went with all white wrapping paper and craft paper with jute twine/white and silver twine to dress it up a bit!

I also got sprigs of fresh rosemary straight from the grocery store in the produce section. Small jingle bells from hobby lobby and medium white pom poms from Michael’s crafts.

Y’all that list is so easy right!? Tie some jute around a box and stick a rosemary sprig in it? Helloooo so cute and easy! And they look so fancy!!

So, to create these looks all I did was for some string the jute twine around the same area on the present but at different angles so they were spread out a bit! I placed the rosemary sprig into the twine and tied another piece of twine close to it, added a bell and made a bow!

For the other types I tied one of the twines, (either white or silver) horizontally on the box and then one vertically so they were crossing. Keep them either to the left/right side of the present so it creates the vide that they aren’t perfectly in the middle! In the place where the two vertical and horizontal twines met I placed either a bundle of PomPoms using a hot glue gun or a sprig if rosemary! Again, trying a bell with the rosemary!

I wrote in all gift tags with a silver sharpie and taped them a little under the bells or Pom Poms!

Hope this helped anyone who needed a little wrapping inspiration! I’ll tell y’all like I always do, don’t over think it! Make it fun and your own! The personal touch is that makes it special! P.S.- if you don’t feel like going out to get white wrapping paper, use what you have turned to the backside! Most wrapping paper has a white back with nothing on it!

Happy wrapping!

White Wide Leg Pants

Heyyy yallll! Christmas is inching closer! Whose ready? NOT ME! I still have lots of presents to buy & the more I look for others the more I buy myself! Whooopsss!

I wanted to do a quick post on this cute little outfit! This would be so cute for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or maybe even a low key New Year’s Eve! Either way it’s got a little bit of a holiday vibe, soooo, I wore it to a Christmas dinner with friends!!

I don’t know about y’all but I LOVE white pants! All about white pants during summer months or winter months!!! They look classy & clean to me! Plus they are SO diverse! They match everything and are definitely a good investment because they can be warn all different ways year round!!! Basically, everyone should have some!

I paired mine for this outfit with a tucked in shirt, that was actually from target! #winning! It’s a sheer tanish/peachy color and has sparkly threads throughout it! Making it a perfect festive holiday shirt!!! I got this shirt in a small because a medium looked big on the hanger, but I could have even done a extra small to make it feel tighter!! I guess y’all are out of luck if you normally wear a extra small lol!!! The shirt is cute now matter what though! I love that it’s got a high turtleneck and it even has little thumb holes!! So cute!!!

I did some looking around and linked some cute white pants below. Click on the pictures to shops them! I also found two cute sets of pants with a top! I LOVE these and almost got one because I thought it would be cute for Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve dinner but let’s be honest girl likes to eat and you can’t suck in with a crop top lol!! I think they would both look great paired with a furish jacket or even a blazer! Just keeping it real!

Fringin’ out

Hey y’all! How’s everyone’s weekend going? Mines been pretty low key, which I guess is good since works been so crazy and the upcoming week is sure to be busy as well!

I have to say I have missed getting dressed up this year and going to holiday party’s! This year was the first year I missed the salons work party because of my dang mohs surgery and there hasn’t been a lot of dressing up opportunities going on since! Bummer for me! I guess if there was a year for it to be like that it would be this year since I wouldn’t feel like running around with a nice bandaid on my face anyway right?

Speaking of dressing up how cute is this white fringe jacket I found at Forever 21? I thought it would be cute paired with something simple for a date night + it caught my eye because it had a different look to me!

I have to admit winter dressing can always be a little rough for me. I have a more curvy figure so I have to watch it with big sweaters and things like that. I’ve always thought having bigger boobs was more of a curse because they tend to hold shirts out further from your body and make you look bigger! Am I making sense or am I the only one that feels that way lol? We all want what we don’t have right!? Anyway, the point is, that’s why I like open sweaters like this, because I can pair it with a tight fitted shirt underneath. That way your still showing off a bit of your figure.

Again this sweater is DEFINITELY loud. It needs to be paired with simple things. I also have a very simple jumpsuit I was thinking I could pair it with. For this look I went with a more faded distressed denim to make it more relaxed since the sweater actually feels like it’s made of yarn a little bit haha! You want to match the feel of all the clothes so a dressy pair of jeans or something too dressy could make it look kinda like a mess!

These booties I have spoken about before, I said how much I loved them because they are a true tan to me. Not really a brown tone or a purple tone come through like so many other tan shoes I try to go for! They are very comfy and I suggest going up in size since they have a pointy toe. I almost paired this outfit with a ankle strap shoe but since it’s chilly here in Louisiana, finally, I went for the bootie!

Last but not least, Earrings! These are huge – but, they worked well with it! Sometimes the statement “less is more” can be thrown out the window right?

The Chelsey Gift Guide

Hey y’all! Hope everyone’s Sunday has been as easy as mine has!! I had to do absolutely no hair today which was great haha! Ry’s parents came over with gumbo for lunch, which was so yummy & then we went down town to meet my momma and brockie at canal place for some shopping and dinner!! I got a goodie I’ve been eyeing up so it was a good day in my book!

How cute is this oversized sweater & belt!? Im guilty of expensive things being on my mind lately or just any gift being on my mind lately since everyone runs around asking you what you want for Christmas!

With that being said, I thought I’d share my personal Christmas wish list with y’all! I have so many clients that sit in my chair and say “what are you asking for?”. I feel like as you get older you run out of ideas for yourself! I personally just always say money when someone asks what I want or a maybe a gift card! As we get older everything we want tends to be more expensive too haha! I feel like we buy all the little & big things we want whenever we want them! But, of course there’s always things we feel guilty for treating ourselves to or things well look at and say “oh, I can wait to get that”.

Now, warning : some of this gift list is a little pricey but these are great if you need a “big gift” idea obviously these come more from parents or the main man in your life. Or from yourself haha! We all treat ourselves to a Christmas gift right?! Or is that just me!?

Y’all know the drill, details & links will be posted below the pictures! Click the link & you can add to your cart, or share the page with someone you love ;p

ONE • Valentino Donna Set | i cant lie part of me wants this just because the bottle is so pretty! I love sets because you get the lotion too! I’m one of those people who doesn’t mix sents, I want them all to match haha! What’s better then a matching lotion to your perfume!?

TWO • Sorel Snow Boots| between my brother living in Boston and me, Ry & Hayds annual ski trip, this girl sees snow a few times a year! I’ve had my eyes on these the past two years now but it’s one of those things I put on the back burner and tell myself I will get when I need them. They are SOOO cute & the color would be practical because they are black & black matches everything! Plus the touch of fur pulls in the browns too!

THREE • Votivo Diffuser | i want this so bad! I have the red currant room spray and it smells so good!! One of those smells that you want to just be all around you, which is exactly why I’d love to have this diffuser in my bedroom! Side note: red currant is actually Madonnas “sex sent” whatever that means! Sounds fancy though pahahaha!!!

FOUR • White Makeup Brush Set | okay, I only want this because they are pretty .. and if we’re honest it drives me nuts that all my makeup brushes don’t match! This set is sold out but I’m on the restocking list so I can snag them when they come back!

FIVE • Paul Mitchell Marble Flat Iron | because this is my FAVORITE flat iron for Chelsey curls and my flat iron here at the house is about to give out on me + I love this limited addition print!

SIX • Gucci Belt | this is totally an insane gift to ask for, but I still want it in the camel color & will never buy it for myself! Just throwing it on here incase anyone else is feeling fancy this Christmas and would like to ask for a $400 belt! (Insert blonde emoji throwing her hands up and shrugging her shoulders here)

SEVEN • Nirvana Bourbon Dry Shampoo | i think I put this perfume on one of my other gift guides, I told you guys how I love the sent because it’s not super girly! I’ve heard their dry shampoo is awesome and I would loveeee for my hair to smell like it too haha!

EIGHT • UGGS | I’m putting this on my list because Ryan made fun of my old uggs today when I put them on to leave the house. They are from when I was in high school & are falling apart + they aren’t actually uggs they are “rebels”. They look exactly the same and were also like $200 but apparently this is appalling, so, Ugg’s on my list it is!

NINE • Kate Spade Velvet Makeup Bag | surprisingly, this is the thing I want on my list the MOST. I’m obsessed with it, I need a new makeup bag, it’s blush & velvet. Need I say more? It’s perfect. That’s all.

TEN • Pottery Barn Robe | pottery barns robes look so comfy and cozy! I can’t deal! I have a silk robe now from my best friends wedding that I run around in, but I really want a soft comfy one that I can put on when I get out the tub! Silk & wet don’t mix!

Planning on making this my last gift guide but I’ve had a few people ask me to do a men’s gift guide! I’ve been thinking about it, but I SUCK at men’s gifts! I feel like I never know what to get Ryan! Maybe I’ll put my thinking cap on and come up with some ideas to help y’all & myself out!

A great gift for your girl that likes to be, or maybe needs to be organized too!

SIX • Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant Sephora $27 | okay, I know your thinking this is a weird gift butttt, it’s really the perfect gift for your girl that like to live luxuriously! I mean $27 deodorant? Can you get any more fancy then that!? (probably so, but still!). I am obsessed with this stuff ever since I bought it! To me it smells pretty & not like deodorant!

SEVEN • Black Tassel Earrings Baublebar $42 | I have absolutely no reason other than the fact that I am obsessed with tassel earrings for this to be in the list! Any girl would love this as a gift because sorta expensive statement earrings are something we question if we really want to buy for ourselves! The black is a great pick because they match anything and will get more wear then another color!

EIGHT • Marble Brush Set Sephora $49 | loving this brush set because, well duh, it’s marble! Also it has a great price point to me because your getting six brushes & they come in a acrylic box that you could set on your vanity, or bathroom counter to store them + makeup! Is it just me or does makeup a nice new set of makeup brushes make getting ready more exciting!?

NINE • Unclipped Curling Wand Paul Mitchell $99 | i can’t stress enough how much I stand behind Paul Mitchell’s hot tools. They LAST, they WORK & they have an amazing WARRANTY! If you ever buy any tools from Paul Mitchell they will last you for years! This Unclipped curling iron is a 3-in-1 it come with interchangeable wands to give you a different type of curl for different looks! For $99 this is a great buy & you can’t go wrong getting any woman a hair tool!

TEN • Pom Pom Throw Blanket Apollo box $49 | your gift for the girl who loves to decorate! Or the girl who loves Pom Poms! This is one of my favorite Pom Pom throws I’ve seen because it’s still really simple but on trend with the Pom Poms! I love the white but they also have a few other colors!!

ELEVEN • Marble Metal Drink Bottle cotton $19 | marble is obviously a trend on this gift guide! I love these because they are cuter than your regular water bottle & keep stuff extra cold! We all know that’s important!!!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

DIY holiday wreaths

Hey y’all! Yay for Wednesday! Let’s make today DIY Wednesday! Pahah maybe I should make that a thing here on the blog every Wednesday!?

First week of December marks the start of Christmas blogging! I’m thinking of sharing lots of recipes with you guys, gift lists, clothes & lots of DIY for around the house!

I did these wreaths a few weeks ago but I am finally sitting down to blog about them! I made two because the house has double doors, they look so cute! Id post a picture but Ryan FINALLY broke down and said he would paint the door a more neutral color, so, I am waiting till that happens to share with you guys! Any of my girlfriends know this makes my day and I am extremely excited paahaha! Its the little things right?! Ry thinks I am insane but, I love him for always trying to go along with my craziness! anyway, getting off subject here.. back to it! Blogging about DIY stuff is kinda a pain in the booty because you have to document everything and then go find all the links to similar stuff too! But it’s worth it if y’all enjoy it!!

Here’s a list of things you will need, I will link the exact wreaths I used but you could obviously use whatever kind of wreaths you want/have!

wreaths x2 | here

jingle bells | here

hammered silver spray paint | here

metallic champagne spray paint | here

jute string | here

thin white ribbon | from any craft store

So first, I had to change the color of my jingle bells! I sprayed them all with the silver hammered spray paint, literally hung them on branches in the back yard and let them dry for a few hours & then Ryan had the idea of spraying the brushed metallic champagne color on a plate and using a plastic bag balled up to blot the bells and give them a worn look. We rolled with that idea because it looked better then my sponge idea haha!!

Once everything was dry it was time to work on the wreaths. I took a small piece of white ribbon and tied it in the spot around the top of the wreath that I wanted everything to hang from and the bow to eventually go at the end. This was basically my “base” for everything.

I strung my bells (which I think came out so cute!) on jute string & tied the rope at different levels so the bells hung at different heights!! I pictured the back of the wreath below so you guys could see!

I wanted the bow to be small & dainty, so, I tied a small & dainty bow and called it a day lol!! Of course after all this hard work I found some bells at hobby lobby that could have worked without me coloring them really! They were a little larger butttt the whole point is that instead of going out and spending a trillion dollars on wreaths, you can always make your own! Most of the time they turn out cuter, were cheaper & are original!

Hope this inspires some of you guys to get D.I.Y.y for Christmas! It’s always fun making things your own!

Tan booties!

I am always on the lookout for cute & comfy booties + I am a girl who loves a good shoe find! As I’ve said before I’m one of those who will buy a shoe from target and turn around and buy a pair of shoes from Neiman, I do NOT discriminate pahaha! Unfortunately!

I find it so hard to find the perfect tan color in a shoe! Don’t you guys?! Sometimes they are too brownish or sometimes they end up having a grayish tone! I can’t tell you the amount of times I’m like oh I can wear these with this tan sweater I have & then when I put it on I’m like welllllll, hollldddd up – these suckers look gray! The wrong color shoe can end up throwing off your whole outfit!

So, when I came across these I added them to my cart right away! The tone was perfect to me!! Plus, I loved chunky heel & the cute little tie detail in the back! These are also pretty comfy! I was surprised because they were from forever so I expected them to hurt a little worse! The true test of shoe comfort for me is wearing them to work! These kinda started hurting me towards the end of my 8 hour day BUT it was because I should have sized up! These have a bit of a pointy front so size up or plan on wearing them with a very thin sock!

For $32 I would say this is a good buy for a cute bootie! Linking them below the picture – click the link & you’ll be able to add them directly to your car!

Happy shoe shopping y’all!
