Star pjs

Hey guys! Finally hopping into bed tonight and getting around to doing a post. Today was a rough day back at work, I have to admit! My eye was practically swollen shut and as soon as I started my first highlight I was like okay thisssss was a bad idea – needless to say everyone’s hair still came awesome!

I did end up cutting my day short though, my meds were making me feel yucky and having one contact in one eye was making me feel dizzy + I have to admit I am a little vein and seeing myself in the mirror like a hot mess frustrated me. At least I can admit my faults though right? I came home, had a small breakdown in the bathroom, Ryan let me cry it out for a second and made a few jokes and then all was good (I have to say he’s always the best at that)!!

All that has led me to this point … laying in bed, blogging about pajamas! It’s funny but if we’re being honest here for the past few years my pajamas were a shirt and some boyshort undies! Once Ry asked me to move in I was like oh no! I need to invest in some actual pajamas & they have to be kid friendly! Needless to say I went pajama crazy & of course love any excuse to buy any type of clothes!

This also probably sounds really silly but a cute pair of matchy pajamas really makes feel like I have my life together pahaha! I’m convinced it helps to aid in having a good nights sleep & a good morning! I recently got these cute star pajamas from ASOS! They were a set, and ya gotta love pajama sets! They were only $35! Now ordering from ASOS is always tricky to me, my best advice when ordering online it to just take your measurements before you order! These came in and were cute but still a tad too big for me! I would deff size down in them!!

I love the star pattern on these because, duh – sleep, stars, ya know lol!! I’ll link this exact pair below & link a few other pairs of cute star patterns for you guys with pictures! The little sleep shirt is soooo cute too, I think I’ll be getting one!!! Perfect Christmas pjs if ya ask me!

Let me know which ones y’all pick! Happy holiday pj shopping dolls!

cutest woven baskets

Hey y’all! How’s everyone’s Wednesday going?! Mines been a little lazy! Yesterday I had moh’s surgery to have a little spot of basal cell skin cancer removed right in the corner of my eye! Thank Jesus it’s over & that they got it all on the first try! At the moment I am looking like someone socked me in the face, and wondering how work will go tomorrow with one eye swollen shut pahaha! Debating wether or not people will want me cutting their hair this way but I decided I’ll see how I feel in the morning and go from there! I mostly laid around all day today and slept but I also got to get some Christmas things done around the house in between my cat naps!

While I was laying around I decided I’d share these cute little baskets with you guys! I am totally obsessed & I got them from target not too long ago! They go with the feel of our house but I feel like you can make them go a few different ways – they have a farmhouse feel to me since they are rope & woven, but the fringe around them almost can give them a girly/dainty feel too! They have a sweet look to them so it would be fabulous in a kids room to throw toys in as well or even in a baby’s room!

I have one in the den filled with rolled up blankets and I have a smaller one in my hair room upstairs that sits on my vanity filled with brushes & important hair stuff!

I love this find because they are cute/trendy yet easy to style since they are white AND because they are under $20 – Good looking home accessories don’t have to cost a billion bucks! Linking them down below for y’all!!

Find the big basket here for $20

& the baby basket here for $7

If any of you guys end up ordering either of these y’all better show me pics 🙂 I love seeing different ways to style them in a room!!

Anyone who knows me would probably tell you I’m not a huge jewelry girl, but this necklace is simple/dainty and that’s why I love it!! I got my initials but you can personalize it with your name or even a special date, which is really cute!!! blush duster

Hey dolls! I’m finally blogging tonight from my own bed! It’s a little late but my day today was crazy, so writing a post around 10 o’clock it is! My Disney trip with Ryan, Hayden, his parents & his brothers family was a blast! I have to say his family is the best and being around them has always been easy/fun because they are genuinely sweet & so welcoming! I wouldn’t change a thing about our trip other then the humid weather that made my #chelseycurls fall pahaha!!!

I am certainly whipped from Disney though and ran around like a chicken with my head cut off today trying to see some of my family that I’ve been missing (I am a huge sucker for my family, I miss them when I go anywhere) and get some Christmas things done because I’ll be out of commission for a few after having a small surgery this up coming Tuesday!! So I’ve packed my days full up till then!

With all that being said my entire weekend was pretty eventful, we got home Friday night around 7:30 pm and I was up and rolling into work for 7:30 am Saturday morning! I got home around 5:30 and knew I had to juggle my evening between my brother who left to go back to Boston for school this morning and my bestest cousin Emily who was getting engaged!!

I got to pull off both in a timely manor all while wearing the cutest little pink duster! I wanted to wear something that didn’t come off too dressy for dinner but was dressy enough to wear at a mini engagement party!

I got this duster a few months ago and knew it would be great to wear within the first few weeks that we would start getting some cool weather around here, so I purposely saved it! They are sold out in this exact one but I am linking similar choices below!

I chose to wear this with a simple black cami dress underneath. I feel like when wearing dusters, kimonos, & long line cardigans they should always be the main focal point of your outfit. Keeping what’s underneath simple let’s the duster, etc. steal the show! Also, i’ve learned to really appreciate when I find a good basic! This black tank dress I can wear time and time again because it’s a workable piece of clothing. Layering it with different things can change the look up so easily!!

I paired this look with a simple ankle strap shoe and some black fringe earrings to tie it all together! I will definitely be able to wear this again paired with jeans or maybe leather leggings over the next few months, so it was a good buy in my book!

Duster | LuLus $62 , Nordstrom $37

Dress | Forever21 $17

Shoes | LuLus $29

Tassel Earrings | Amazon $10

Chunky chenille sweaters & jean shorts…

Well if that isn’t our typical winter attire in the in the south! I don’t know how it’s feeling at home but in Florida it’s feeling pretty warm! Still a little chilly at night so, short & sweater weather attire it is! I wore this cute little fit to dinner with Ryan on our date night in Disney! I know this pictures not the bestttt but I’m working on my outfit picture taking skills! And trying to get more comfortable taking pictures by myself with people around pahaha! It’s weird because I’ll selfie the day away but then I get camera shy and chicken out when I ask Ryan to take a picture of me by myself?! Ughk! I don’t know how all these bloggers do it!

I paired this big, super soft chenille sweater & jean shorts with a tucked in soft pink satin camisole to give it a more dressed up feel while still looking relaxed since we were just going walking around Disney springs and not doing anything too fancy! I also threw on some big tassel earrings to help give the same affect! Tassel earrings can always help add some fancy to any outfit! I think that’s why I’m such a fan!

I got these earrings from a store on magazine but I’ll link a similar pair below that would match this look! Also, these jean shorts are super old (regular jean shorts, not high-waisted), I know we all own jean shorts haha so pair them with your favorite ones! This obviously would look adorable with a pair of distressed jeans and some light colored booties too for the colder months to come!

Today’s the day to shop because it’s Black Friday, and most of this outfit is from express who is offering 50% off everything!

Blush Christmas list

Hey y’all! I know it’s a little pre-mature, but maybe not because people like to get our Christmas shopping done in a decent time frame before Christmas lol, unless your like me! I’m totally always last minute with Christmas shopping! I have a few Christmas lists prepared for you guys over the next few weeks! I’m still in Disney and totally being rude posting this on the jungle cruise so we’ll make this short and sweet!! This blush Christmas list has some cute stuff on it and any of my family and friends can feel free to get me anything on any of these lists I post pahaha!!

F.Y.I. – Everything on this list is under $100 and I’ll link the cute pink shoes under the list!

ONE • Reversible Tote & Wristlet Nordstrom $48 | love this because it’s simple but brings 3 different things to the table haha! A blush purse, a cream purse, & wristlet! This bag is huge which makes it a winner to me because I love just being able to throw everything in my bag, while still having a small spot to put all the the important stuff (the wristlet)! Blush is great for all seasons of course & then you can wear the cream for the warmer seasons! The material is also great because it’s easy to wipe if it gets a little dirty!

TWO • Faux Fur Blush Pillow Lauren Conrad for Kohls $32 | because blush is BIG in decor right now. I wishhhhh so bad Ryan would let me run wild with that lol but since I’m the only chick in the house that’s not allowed!! I also think it’s a big fad at the moment & that’s why I love that this pillow isn’t too costly! This would be cute with just one thrown on a chair/sofa for an accent pillow or grab two and use them on your bed!

THREE • Happy Hour Water Bottle typo $12 | Today every hour is happy hour! This is so cute for your fitness girl, or just the girl who loves to run around in her workout clothes and pretend she’s into fitness (cough, cough, like me).

FOUR • Monogram Bootie Slippers $52 | I’m not normally a monogram lover but these look so cute & cozy! I love how they have the knitted look and the fur coming over the top! Perfect for running around the house and keeping your toesies warm!

FIVE • Marble Blush Phone Case elemental cases $29 | who doesn’t love a good marble phone case?! I love how this has hints of white and gold in there as well! This is one I will definitely be getting for myself!

SIX • Jewelry Box shopbop $40 | How adorable is this pastel glass jewelry box? Any girl can appreciate a place to put her jewelry, not to mention this would look so cute sitting on any vanity, dresser or bathroom counter to add a girly touch!

SEVEN • Silk Sleep Mask pottery barn $45 | Perfect gift to pamper yourself & your skin! This super soft eye mask will defiantly help with your beauty sleep! I think this is a great gift to treat yourself or someone else!!!

EIGHT • Basketweave Throw Blanket West elm $79 | this blanket is so soft and cozy, again the blush decor is so in right now so it’s a good way to give a little blush touch without overdoing it!

NINE • BECCA X Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette $46 | one of my personal favorite make-up palettes! I am a blush FREAK, never leave the house without it and people who know me know I pile it on! It’s a problem! I love how this has the blush, a bronzery blush and the highlighters! It’s amazingly priced and any girl would love to get this as a gift!!

TEN • Better than sex mascara by too faced $23 | the most AMAZING mascara I have ever used! I’m obsessed with it! With a name like that you know it’s gotta be good! It doesn’t fall and gather under your eyes and it makes your lashes look their fullest! Put on about 3 coats and it can definitely mimic a false lash strip! This mascara has my #1 vote!

So, you can find a similar pair of these shoes here mine were from target but you can find a similar pair of j/slides that are just as cute for $47! I love these because they make your sneaker a little more dressy + what gets girlier than a pink satin sneaker?! They look so cute paired with leggings or even Jean shorts and a white tee!

Happy blush shopping gals!

Rust kimonos & Christmas cruise attire

Hey y’all! It’s been a long few days without WiFi pahahaha!! We are debarking the ship today, it was one of the nicest cruises I’ve been on and was a blast!!! We snorkeled in Nassau, road bikes around castaway key island and found a billion starfish in the water! However, I can’t lie my Disney world anticipation has been full force all 3 cruise days!!!

We decided to get all dressed up for a Christmas picture last night & I thought you guys might want my outfit deets!! This kimono was only $17 and I am OBSESSED with the color! I’m into anything rust colored this winter and this would look great paired with some jeans to dress it down or even with some fancy shorts/a dressy skirt for a holiday party! My dress underneath I wanted to keep a simple color so I went with this nude colored faux suede dress $25 – this was a good buy because I know I can reuse and pair it with different things! Of course I went with fringe earrings because … I have a fringe earring addiction!

Please excuse my cruise photo, it was my only option…

Chocolate, pumpkin pie buttercream, acorn cupcakes!

Whoa, now THAT is a title! You guys voted for a thanksgiving cupcake idea, so I delivered! I am more then happy to get to mess around in the kitchen trying different things! And, even more so, now that Ryan just ordered a new normal stove, THANK JESUS! The stove im working with now is a commercial stove, and im kinda not really the best at using it – sooo to be honest im glad it’s going lol! Now, on to the main event….

I was just messing around and was pretty surprised that these turned out bombbbb (I never say that but its the only appropriate word right now!). I brought them to work the day after and everyone gave them two thumbs up so that’s means they were a win! And the best part? THEY WERE SO EASY! I will list bellow the things you need (to do the icing fancy you will need the list of icing accessories I posted in my last cupcake blog post, you can find it if you click here)   …

• Your favorite box of chocolate cake mix (I used devils food)

• Your favorite brand of BUTTERCREAM frosting (Or you can make your own but who has time for that?)

• Cinnamon spice

• Cinnamon sugar

• Pumpkin pie spice (it looks like this, if its not in your store you can amazon prime it HERE )

• Powdered sugar

• Caramel candy squares

• Tootsie rolls

• Raw cut sugar (looks like this, you want it to have a bit of a golden color)

So once you have made your cupcakes and popped them in the oven you can start making your pumpkin pie buttercream icing while they are baking/cooling. Scoop your icing into a large bowl, add one heaping tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice, add one tablespoon of cinnamon sugar and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon spice. Mix it together and make sure you like the taste, if you want more of a pumpkin pie taste you can add more but I think the one tablespoon should be enough!

Once you get the taste right, its time to get the consistency right (skip this step if your like “forgetttt that im just slapping this icing on with a knife!” More power to ya sista!), add one cup of powdered sugar to your icing. This should make it thicker, that way, when you are piping the icing you have a nice dense swirl! You want to consistency to be somewhat like peanut butter, or softened cream cheese kinda.

Once consistency and flavor are right, fill your pipping bag with the icing, tie it off & put it in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

From here let cupcakes completely cool down, take icing bag and create the swirls on top of your cupcake (practice a few first). If you feel like you want more add another swirl on top to make it look fuller. I ended up adding on top of mine so it would as well! The take your raw sugar packets and sprinkle them lightly over your icing.

Once all cupcakes are Iced and sprinkled, it’s time to make your decorative acorns! This is where the caramel and tootsies come in! Using the heat of your hands roll the caramel into a ball, this is going to be the base of your acorn! You should make it come to a roundish point at the bottom! Then grab a tootsie roll, again, using the heat of your hand make a top for your acorn, you want this to be around the same size width as your caramel base. Use your thumb to make a indent on the bottom side so your caramel bottom will fit snug in. Take a small piece of tootsie roll & make a stem. Put these together to make your acorn, caramel bottom first, tootsie top second, and stem right on top! I opted to make a few smaller acorns as well so I had a little variety!

Once I was done making my acorns I took a toothpick and scraped criss-crosses on the front of them, this step was a little unnecessary & extra but whatever lol you can skip it!!

Then when they are totally to your liking, place them on top of your sugared icing. Place one big acorn on some and a big acorn with a little next to it on others, that way they don’t look so uniform!

Then, take a picture of your cuteee cupcake and SERVE!!

I think this recipe is really easy & the flavor in the icing wows people! You could also defiantly pair it with another cake flavor besides chocolate if that’s not your thing! Hope you guys think they are delicious!!!

Traveling in style!

So today I am off to spend the week with mickey! Three days on the Disney Cruise & four days in Disney world … I can hardly contain my excitement because I am a major Disney lover!! My dad used to take me two times a year when I was younger so it’s just in my blood I guess!

Normally when I go to the airport I try to stick with my lulus & be comfy but this is only a hour flight & we are headed straight to the ship so I decided to be a little more put together! You always need a sweater on a flight & slip-on shoes make going through security check way quicker. I feel like I wear these shoes every time I go to the airport lol!!! I’m also really weird about my skin touching the gross airplane chairs, so I picked a longer line sweater for the win + it’s not actually a heavy sweater!!

Outfit deets will be listed below the picture! My exact shoes are sold out so I linked VERY similar choices! Also my sweater is 20%off!

Sweater here $35

Bodysuit, similar here $35 & here $11

Jean shorts, similar here $68

Shoes almost exact here $99, similar here $135

I’ll give mickey kisses for all you ladies!

Big hair changes

Hey ladiesss, today im talking big hair changes! Hair is a BIG DEAL, I always say its our biggest accessory! We change the color, the length, the style, and all these things play a roll in our day to day look & even how we feel about ourselves when we look in the mirror! Heres some things to keep in mind when making a big change!

  • WHEN CHANGING COLOR

– The biggest thing here is PATIENCE. I know nowadays we see people like Kim Kardasian going from blonde to black in a day, the truth behind this is A) a lot of the time she is wearing a wig, if you pay attention to the show or snaps sometimes you see wigs in the background & she will even say in her snaps something about a wig B) if they are making a big change to their real hair this takes HOURS. Kyle Jenner once snapped going blonde for like 8 hours one night! I pay attention to this stuff because its my profession & it totally boggles my mind sometimes too that their hair hasn’t hit the floor but a lot of it is smoke & mirrors!

If you are going from brown to blonde or even blonde to brown THIS IS A PROCESS to be honest there may be a period where your not exactly in love with your hair, when changing colors or trying to lift colors people tend to be orangey & warm. There are toners we can use to counteract that warmth but, it wont cut it completely all the time. I am famous for telling people making a big change, the first time honestly is not going to get you where you want to be. THE SECOND TIME, your are allll set!

& a word to clients when they are seeing a new hairdresser for the first time and making a big change OR even to clients that have been with their hairdresser for years that want to make a big change. There’s nothing I worry about more when making a big change for the first appointment than your understanding of the process, OF COURSE we want you to be happy with the change & get where your trying to go! For clients sitting in a hairdressers chair for the first time understand that the hairdresser has to get to know your hair, to see how it lifts and what underlying colors your hair tends to pull! I always say, GIVE YOUR HAIRDRESSER A CHANCE. Any hairdresser can tell you it stings a bit when you leave in the middle of a process to try out somewhere else, of course the second go around its going to be better, because someone else did all the hard work breaking through the old color the first time!  My advice is give your hairdresser two trys, I know personally when I am making a big change I probably have the steps in mind for the first & second appointment to get you where you need to be! If your not working in the direction you want to be after your second appointment, consult with your hairdresser to see if your on the same page & if you don’t feel comfortable from there, try out someone new!

– The integrity of your hair is most important. Get where you want to be, as fast as you can, while keeping your hair as healthy as it can be. Last week I turned someone away because I knew her hair would hit the floor if I bleached it. I wasn’t comfortable with it and she was a doll & completely understood. She was thankful I was honest & I told her some other options and that she should even go see some other hairdressers to see their thoughts! Most hair dresser that have been in the business know what’s best for your hair. TRUST us if we tell you something isn’t a good idea. Its for your hairs benefit!

– Sometimes, just changing the TONE of your hair can make a BIG difference. Feeling gold & interested in a change? Tone your hair to a more neutral or ash blonde!  Toners are great for this reason, if your loving the level of dark or light your hair is but want to see a difference in something this is a great option!

  • WHEN CHANGING CUT

– My best advice here & my famous words “ARE YOU 100% SURE?”. That’s my really only main thing to say! When cutting a lot off your hair I always say to be completely positive this is something your committed to & are ready to look in the mirror and see everyday! I think we have all been there once in our lives! Crying on the way home from the salon or like two weeks later when were over the excitement of a new look!

I will also say, it kills me when people are like “I want to go shorter so Its less work” PSHHHH, helloooo, short hair is kind of more work! You have to be committed to waking up and styling your hair every morning! Shorter hair takes effort! The luxury of longer hair is that you have the option of throwing it up or putting it in a braid or something when your not in the hair fixin’ mood!

Long bobs “LOBS” are one of my favorites right now for this reason, they give people the feel of a sassy new look with enough length to throw it up or leave it messy down for a sexy effortless look!

The good news with making a big change in the cutting department? HAIR GROWS!

*in the photo above the major game changer here was adding baby fine lowlights to create dimension as well as creating the perfect toner to cut her yellowyness (is that a word?). I also convinced her to STOP breaking her root, giving her color a more natural feel!

Hope you guys are having a happy hump day!
